International Students

HOW ARE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ADMITTED?
College of the Siskiyous welcomes the application of students from other countries. The presence of international students promotes cross-cultural understanding, provides community enrichment, and provides an opportunity for all to enrich their own cultural awareness. College of the Siskiyous is approved by the U.S. Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service for the education and training of international students.

Prospective international students must submit all of the following information to be considered for admission:

     Application for admission (PDF file) and $35 application fee.
     Official transcripts from all secondary schools and colleges
     Verification of English proficiency with a minimum score of 470 paper based or 150 computer based on TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or a Band 5 on IELTS (International English Language Testing System). For more information on testing please visit the TOEFL web site or the IELTS web site. We only accept original scores. English proficiency can also be demonstrated by completion of a Level 108 or 109 at one of the intensive ESL programs with which we have special condition agreements, such as ASPECT, or ELS Language Centers
     Tuberculin skin testing results in English from the last two years
     Verified recent (within the last nine months) bank statement in USA dollars written in English
     A recent photograph, passport-size
     International Students are required to purchase their health insurance through the College of the Siskiyous specified health insurance provider. It is required that you purchase the mandatory health insurance before you are allowed to register for classes.

All information should be on file with the college at least two months prior to the beginning of each semester (June 30 for the Fall Semester; October 31 for the Spring Semester). These deadlines may be flexible if a student is already studying in the United States. If admitted, students will be issued the Form I-20 Certificate of Eligibility for use in securing a student (F-1) visa.
