Entering   his fourth  season  as  the
Eagles   Volleyball   coach   is  Tom
Powers. Coach  Powers  has  been
on the COS athletic staff for the past
23   years.   He   has   coached   the
men's    basketball    team   and   is
currently  also the  women's  basketball  coach. He was inducted into the California Community College Coaches Hall of Fame in 2001.

Coach Powers took over four years ago, just three days before the season began. "I'd been looking foward to a new challenge, and when the opportunity opened, I was ready for the job", Coach Powers stated.

"We have had a long tradition of great volleyball teams here
at COS. I'm hopeful we can reach the standards of some of these teams from the past".

                         Entering   his sixteenth  season  with  the                            Eagles    Volleyball    is   Dave    Fontius.                               Coach  Fontius  served  12  seasons  as                          the head coach and has the most career                          volleyball   wins  of  any   COS   volleyball                          coach.

Since taking over the Eagle Volleyball program in 1990, Fontius and Eagle Volleyball have never finished lower than fourth place in the GVC. Under his guidance the Eagles won two GVC titles and returned to the state volleyball tournament five times in eleven seasons. The Eagle's program was a perennial top 25 team in California.

"Dave was a great asset for us last season," Coach Powers stated. "He is known throughout California as an outstanding practice coach and for his skill with fundamentals".
