Learning Goals
Student learning goals include:

Students will study problem areas in the field of police-community relations.

Evaluate the needs of special population groups and analyze responses to these groups.

Analyze effective communication skills and compare techniques.

Compare and contrast human differences when confronted with communication problems.

Examine barriers between the criminal justice system and the community.

Assess conflict resolution skills and critical thinking skills.

Understand the history and processes of American policing.

This course meets the C.O.S. ADJ program AA Degree requirements and also UC/CSU transfer requirements.
