About the COS Foundation

History:

Formed in 1991-92, and established in 1993, the Foundation Board embarked on a long-range plan to raise private funds to be used for educational support and to increase public awareness of the College.   Since 1992, the Foundation has actively raised funds with the intent of helping to keep COS at the forefront of educational quality by developing new programs, improving facilities, providing equipment, and offering student scholarships.

The funds raised by the Foundation Board benefit five areas of priority: 1) advanced excellence in teaching and learning; 2) student scholarships; 3) acquiring and supporting new technologies; 4) completing campus renovations and new building projects; and, 5) enhancing the arts.

Quality education depends on fiscal stability, well-maintained facilities and equipment, up-to-date technology, and a faculty and staff that are current with new and innovative advances in their fields.  Since its inception, the Foundation has worked to assist the Board of Trustees and College staff to maintain its standard of excellence.
