Welcome from the President

Welcome and thank you for visiting the College of the Siskiyous website. We are proud of our commitment to excellence and proud of the variety of programs we offer our students. Whether you are interested in transferring to a four-year university, preparing for a new career or upgrading your skills in a particular field, College of the Siskiyous can help you achieve your goals.

We are known for an excellent, dynamic faculty, a professional and caring staff and an environment that provides a beautiful space to learn and grow. We provide a host of student support programs including support for disabled students, students experiencing economic challenges, a MESA program which supports students in the math, engineering and science areas as well as a tutoring center, math lab, reading lab and writing lab. We offer students opportunities to participate on athletic teams, sing in several choirs, participate in theater productions, or play in a band or orchestra.

In 2006 our community passed a 31 million dollar bond which began a series of building projects that will provide more state of the art learning opportunities both on the Weed Campus and on our site in Yreka. A new Tactical Training Facility is operating and supporting our fire tower, we are breaking ground for a new Emergency Service Center which will house our paramedic program among others and in Yreka we are building a Rural Health Science Institute which will open in the fall of 2009. Students in our nursing programs will have a state of the art facility to learn in. Our dorms have been refurbished and boast wireless common areas, internet and new furniture throughout.

The alpine setting of the College, the excellent career technical programs we offer and the quality of our transfer level classes make this a unique place to learn. We take pride in providing a world class education in an out of this world environment.
