Our Program!

The Theatre Arts Department here at College of the Siskiyous offers a complete lower division transfer program, as well as, vocational training in technical theatre. The biggest advantage to studying theatre here at COS?--our small department.  Because of our size, opportunities abound for students to be involved in all aspects of our productions. The COS Theatre Department produces two main stage productions per year.  Other Theatre Department offerings include student directed theatre productions and visiting artist workshops. Regardless of your aspirations, COS' Theatre Department adds experience and training which can serve students for a career in performing arts or help give them the confidence, poise, oral communication skills and ability to tap their creative imagination that will serve them for a lifetime in whatever profession they choose.

Beyond earning an Associate degree in Performance Theatre, students can obtain excellent course transferability to universities. All at the base of majestic Mt. Shasta in Weed, California. Surrounded by mountains, forests, lakes and streams, our college lives in an environment of scenic beauty and artistic inspiration.

Help Support COS Theatre by Contributing to our Theater Membership Fund

In an effort to meet our many budgetary requirements COS theatre director, Tom Murdock has created a Theater Membership fund for the Department.

"I have been overly pleased with the community's support and look forward to seeing you again this year for our exclusive opening night wine and cheese receptions. You can look forward to our first reception, as we celebrate the Kenneth Ford Theater’s fortieth anniversary. A new feature for members this year is a call ahead preferred seating reservation option for the shows you will be attending. As a theatre member you will receive two complimentary tickets for each of our main stage performances and student one acts, as well as a members-only opening night receptions, and a new preferred seating option. (Members will be able to reserve seats for each of our performances.) Your past donations have greatly impacted the students in many ways: providing make-up supplies, scripts, props, as well as show essentials that the majority of our students don’t have the means to supply for themselves. We also scholarship needy students who otherwise could not afford to attend our theater department trip to see a play at the award winning Oregon Shakespeare Festival.  Many of these students have never seen live theater before. With all this in mind, we would like to give you the opportunity to make a suggested donation of $50.  Remember, your donation is tax deductible and gives you a chance to begin the season of giving. We have a very exciting season planned and look forward to seeing you all there."
